Jesse Chorng first started a  “Sneakerology 101” course taught at Carnegie Mellon, all about the art and history of the sneaker by teaching about its connection to hip hop, the internet and basketball. There’s even a midterm where you have to design a sneaker using the elements taught throughout the semester.

He has also created the “Sneaker Mirror,” a screen connected to a live feed webcam with pixels made up of images of over 100 of the most iconic sneakers.  What an amazing concept!  I’d like to try this mirror out some time & I was actually looking at Carnegie Mellon for it’s art program.  What a cool class to take in college.
